Mel had started her original Etsy shop The Dot back in 2007, focusing soley on jewelry. Being an avid member of Craftster.org, she honed her skills in other areas, including sewing, knitting, crocheting and general crafting. She was just getting her footing when she met Micah in 2009. They bonded over a love of craft beer and good times. Micah had a genuine interest in Mel's crafty endeavors and eventually taught himself how to crochet. He kept it a secret and surprised Mel one day. From then on, Mel knew he would be a major contribution to their crafty life.

In May 2013, Mel & Micah tied the knot and jumped the broom, literally! With a lovely Scottish-inspired ceremony, complete with a custom-made kilt for the groom, Mel's dress that she handmade herself, homebrewed beer by Micah and a slew of other handmade items.

They are currently living the good life in their favorite downtown Atlanta neighborhood with their Chihuahua Rupert and kitten Penelope (pronounced peen-ah-lope).
